
CANBERRA – A hat trick to Mario Valery-Trabucco and two goals to Joseph Hughes saw the CBR Brave demolish the Melbourne Mustangs 9-4 at the Phillip Ice Skating Centre on Saturday evening.
The first goal for Valery-Trabucco was scored at 18:10 of the second period, with Tyler Kubara and Declan Bronte picking up the assists. Valery-Trabucco’s second goal came at 13:13 of the second period, with Joseph Hughes getting the assist. Valery-Trabucco’s third goal came at 8:25 of the second period, with Tyler Kubara and Garret Cockerill picking up the assists. Valery-Trabucco also scored one assist for four points.
Hughes’ first goal came at 8:20 of the first period, with Tyler Kubara and Mario Valery-Trabucco picking up the assists. Hughes’ second goal, which turned out to be the game winning goal, came at 3:32 of the first period, with Tyler Kubara and Nick Christensen picking up the assists. Hughes also scored one assist for three points.
Mitchell Henning, Wehebe Darge and Casey Kubara all scored one goal and one assist for two points each. Declan Bronte and Kai Miettinen got two assists for two points each.
Mustangs player Scott Timmins scored his first goal at 16:59 of the first period, with Brendan McDowell and Mitchell Humphries picking up the assists. The second goal for Timmins was scored at 9:54 of the first period, with Mitchell Humphries and Brendan McDowell picking up the assists.
Brendan McDowell scored one goal and two assists for three points.
