
GAME REVIEW – MELBOURNE – Aleksandr Dvinianinov tallied three points and Grant Toulmin earned two points as the Sydney Ice Dogs beat the Melbourne Ice 5-3 at the O’Brien Icehouse on Saturday evening.
Dvinianinov scored an empty net power play goal at 1:00 of the third period. The goal was scored unassisted. Dvinianinov also scored two assists for three points.
Grant Toulmin scored his goal at 13:28 of the first period, assisted by Dvinianinov. Toulmin also picked up one assist for two points.
Thomas Voller scored the game winning goal at 10:57 of the 3rdunassisted..
Austin McKenzie’s first goal for the Ice, a power play goal, was scored at 12:37 of the second period, with Jeff Hu and Daniel Machin picking up the assists. McKenzie’s second goal came at 7:23 of the third period, with Josh Walt and Christian Pansino picking up the assists.
Josh Walt scored one goal and one assist for two points.
Jakob Doornbos was the winning goalie for Sydney Ice Dogs, making 31 saves on 34 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.912. Michael James was the losing goalie for Melbourne Ice, making 18 saves on 23 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.783.
