
CANBERRA – Joseph Hughes scored two goals and two goals to Casey Kubara the CBR Brave smashed the Sydney Ice Dogs 8-1 at the Phillip Ice Skating Centre on Saturday evening.
Hughes’ first goal came at 9:48 of the second period, with Tyler Kubara getting the assist. The second goal for Hughes, a power play goal, was scored at 3:57 of the second period, with Tyler Kubara and Andy Camenzind picking up the assists.
Kubara’s first goal came at 19:27 of the first period, with Charlie York and Mario Valery-Trabucco picking up the assists. The second goal for Kubara was scored at 9:54 of the third period, with Mike Giorgi getting the assist.
Garret Cockerill scored his first goal at 19:17 of the third period, with Mario Valery-Trabucco getting the assist. The second goal for Cockerill, a power play goal, was scored at 6:50 of the third period, with Mario Valery-Trabucco and Casey Kubara picking up the assists.
Mario Valery-Trabucco scored one goal and three assists for four points. Tyler Kubara got three assists for three points.
Andy Camenzind scored one goal and one assist for two points. Mike Giorgi got two assists for two points.
Thomas Voller scored the lone Ice Dogs goal on the power play at 13:10 of the second period, assisted by Aleksandr Dvinianinov and Cameron Todd.
Alex Tetreault was the winning goalie for CBR Brave, making 11 saves on 12 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.917. Jakob Doornbos was the losing goalie for Sydney Ice Dogs, making 42 saves on 50 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.840.
