
SYDNEY – Five points to Matt Armstrong and Scott Timmins tallied four points as the Melbourne Mustangs beat the Sydney Ice Dogs 9-6 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Sunday evening.
Armstrong’s first goal came at 10:22 of the third period, with Mitchell Humphries and Scott Timmins picking up the assists. The second goal for Armstrong was scored at 0:11 of the third period unassisted. Armstrong also scored three assists for five points.
Timmins scored his first goal, a power play goal, at 2:27 of the first period, with Ty Wishart and Matt Armstrong picking up the assists. The second goal for Timmins was scored at 13:31 of the third period, with Matt Armstrong and Ty Wishart picking up the assists. Timmins scored two goals and two assists for four points.
The first goal for Brendan McDowell, a power play goal, was scored at 10:39 of the second period, with Scott Timmins and Ty Wishart picking up the assists. The second goal for McDowell was scored at 18:22 of the third period, with Vadim Virjassov and Sean Jones picking up the assists.
