SYDNEY – Scott Timmins scored two goals and a goal to Ty Wishart saw the Melbourne Mustangs defeat the Sydney Bears 3-2 at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Saturday evening.
Timmins scored his first goal, a power play goal, at 6:01 of the first period, with Matt Armstrong and Ty Wishart picking up the assists. Timmins’ second goal came at 10:57 of the second period, with Ty Wishart and Mitchell Humphries picking up the assists.
Ty Wishart scored the game winning goal at 4:38 of the 3rd period, assisted by Scott Timmins and Matt Armstrong. Wishart also got two assists for three points.
Matt Armstrong got two assists for two points.
Ellesse Carini scored one goal and one assist for two points for the Ice Dogs.
Sebastian Woodlands was the winning goalie for Melbourne Mustangs, making 24 saves on 26 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.923. Glen Forbes-White was the losing goalie for Sydney Bears, making 23 saves on 26 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.885.
