
MELBOURNE – A hat trick to Daniel Berno and two goals to Francis Drolet helped the Newcastle Northstars beat the Melbourne Mustangs 7-4 at the O’Brien Icehouse on Sunday afternoon.
Berno’s first goal came at 4:31 of the first period, with Beau Taylor and Francis Drolet picking up the assists. Berno scored his second goal, a power play goal that became the game winner, at 9:43 of the third period, with Robert Malloy and Ethan Hawes picking up the assists. The third goal for Berno was scored at 1:11 of the third period, with Beau Taylor and John Kennedy picking up the assists.
Drolet’s first goal came at 10:16 of the second period unassisted. Drolet’s second goal came at 7:55 of the second period, with Ethan Hawes and Beau Taylor picking up the assists.
