SYDNEY – Two goals to Tomas Landa and two points to Timothy Newmark saw the Sydney Bears defeat the Newcastle Northstars 4-3 in overtime at the Macquarie Ice Rink on Saturday evening.
The first goal for Landa was scored at 3:31 of the first period, with Kenshin Hayashi and Brian Funes picking up the assists. Landa scored his second goal at 1:30 of overtime, with Timothy Newmark getting the assist.
Landa also scored one assist for three points.
Timothy Newmark got two assists for two points.
Robert Malloy scored one goal and one assist for two points for the Northstars.
Anthony Kimlin was the winning goalie for Sydney Bears, making 15 saves on 18 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.833. Charles Smart was the losing goalie for Newcastle Northstars, making 23 saves on 27 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.852.
