MELBOURNE – Scott Timmins scored five goals and Ty Wishart tallied six points as the Melbourne Mustangs smashed the Sydney Ice Dogs 12-2 at the O’Brien Icehouse on Saturday evening.
The first goal for Timmins was scored at 10:27 of the first period, with Ty Wishart and Jaxson Lane picking up the assists. The second goal for Timmins was scored at 0:47 of the first period, with Ty Wishart and Sebastian Woodlands picking up the assists. Timmins scored his third goal, a short handed goal, at 12:33 of the second period, with Matt Armstrong and Ty Wishart picking up the assists. The fourth goal for Timmins was scored at 19:17 of the third period, with Matt Armstrong and Ty Wishart picking up the assists. Timmins scored his fifth goal at 6:46 of the third period, with Matt Armstrong and Mike McDowell picking up the assists.
Timmins also scored two assists for seven points.
Ty Wishart scored one goal and five assists for six points.
Matt Armstrong got four assists for four points.
Brendan McDowell, Vadim Virjassov and Sean Jones scored one goal and two assists for three points each.
Jordan Warren scored one goal and one assist for two points.
Marcus Hosen scored one goal and one assist for two points for the Ice Dogs.
