MELBOURNE – GAME REVIEW – Patrick Nadin scored the game winning goal at 17:10 of overtime and Ethan Hawes tallied three points as the Newcastle Northstars defeated the Sydney Bears 3-3 in the Preliminary Final at the O’Brien Icehouse on Saturday evening.

Ethan Hawes and Daniel Berno scored one goal and one assist for two points each.

The first goal for Landa from the Bears was scored at 18:22 of the first period, with Kenshin Hayashi getting the assist. Landa’s second goal came at 14:09 of the first period, with Alexander Gauthier getting the assist. Landa’s third goal came at 7:00 of the third period unassisted.

Charles Smart was the winning goalie for Newcastle Northstars, making 26 saves on 29 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.897.  Anthony Kimlin was the losing goalie for Sydney Bears, making 23 saves on 27 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.852.
