
MELBOURNE – GAME REVIEW – Casey Kubara’s goal at 6:28 of the 3rd period sealed the game as the CBR Brave won the Goodall Cup against the Newcastle Northstars 3-2 in the 2022 AIHL Grand Final at the O’Brien Icehouse on Sunday afternoon.
Joseph Hughes opened the scoring for the game with a goal at 10:53 of the first period, assisted by Garret Cockerill and Jordon Brunt.
Wehebe Darge doubled the Brave’s score at 9:31 of the first period, assisted by Mike Giorgi.
Francis Drolet scored the first goal for the Northstars at 15:16 of the second period on th epower play, assisted by Robert Malloy and Richard Tesarik.
Casey Kubara scored at 6:28 of the third period, assisted by Wehebe Darge and Mario Valery-Trabucco, scoring the game winning goal.
Robert Malloy scored on the power play at 0:08 for the Northstars, assisted by Ethan Hawes.
Alex Tetreault was the winning goalie for CBR Brave, making 20 saves on 22 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.909. Charles Smart was the losing goalie for Newcastle Northstars, making 50 saves on 53 shots, for a Save Percentage of 0.943.
